Maya joined the Good Shepherd pack in July of '10. She is my son's dog and was bred by Marcia King-Brink of Windmill Farm in IA. We are especially blessed by Maya's coming because just 2-1/2 months after joining our family, Marcia and Maya's brother Sage were lost in a tragic accident. Those of us who knew Marcia (which included a large portion of the ES world) were crushed by the news. Our consolation is the legacy she left behind in the hearts of her friends and in the wonderful dogs she bred.
It didn't take Maya long to find her niche here and she quickly sucked everyone in to her cuteness. She was well accepted by both Ivy and Alice who actually competed for surrogate mother status! She is now nearly 3 and has developed into a beautiful girl with good herding aptitude, nurturing instincts and a healthy dose of ES bossiness all wrapped up in the desire to follow the rules and "do it right". She's the kind of balanced pup a breeder longs to produce. I know Marcia would be proud.
Maya has been PennHipp tested with a DI of .31/.25 . She is MDR1 Normal/Normal and is registered with ESCR.
