Good shepherd's white oak Sawyer

In 2004, I contacted Rebecca Wingler at White Oak English Shepherds about acquiring a pup from her female, Becca.  I was looking for a dog with a happy, confident personality.  Becca sounded like just such a dog, so I asked Rebecca if she would pick a pup that took after his mama.  She picked Sawyer for us.  From the time Sawyer joined our family, he has proven himself to be confident, unflappable, affectionate, intelligent and biddable.  He is a fun loving, devoted companion providing an abundance of love and affection to his family.  Sawyer is always ready to help and loves to accompany his people wherever they go.  His sense around stock is good and he is quite calm around them unless their behavior warrants more force.  He is a dog that seeks the approval of his master and is sensitive to doing anything wrong.  He has proven himself quite capable at pest eradication, hunting mice, voles and rabbits on our farm.  He has also shown an affinity for accompanying my son on nighttime jaunts into the woods to find and tree coon.  Sawyer has been PennHip screened and his DI of .25/.25 is among the lowest in the breed.  He was also OFA'd before age 2 and received a prelim score of Good.  He is registered with ESCR and UKC.

looking a bit more dignified

Sawyer is a "smiler".  Also known as a submissive grin, this isn't an aggressive gesture at all.  He smiles at us often upon greeting or if he is getting a "talking to".  This trait is quite likely hereditary as his daughter Queen possesses the same tendency.
